From the Brompton Factory comes the most amazing and stunning bike they have ever made, a 7.4kg titanium masterpiece.

The Brompton brand is synonymous with masterful engineering, British enginuity and lifelong quality. Founded in 1976 they have consistently set the highest standard worldwide for folding bikes, and with the Brompton T-Line you have a exceptional leap forward in quality.

A full titanium frame combined with a carbon fiber fork and a revolutionary seatpost design results in a 7.45kg masterpiece, lighter than many top end carbon road bikes.

At present the Brompton T Line is available in single speed, 4 speed and 12 speed versions. Single speed is quite a challenge in a hilly city like Sydney. We do have the capacity to convert 4 speed bikes into the 12 speed versions. However most customers have opted to stick with four speed.

Why ? simply because the 12 speed version adds the added weight and drag of an internal gear hub and this detracts somewhat from the lightweight joy and efficiency of the 4 speed version. It also adds to the upfront cost of the bike and given its retrofit table it only works out marginally cheaper to get a 12 speed bike than a four speed with a 12 speed option.  The 12 speed hub and associated shifter cabling etc adds approximately 850grams or a bit over 10% in weight to the bike. A IGH also is less efficient than a pure external drive train. The 12 speed version remains fantastic option for touring or other really really hilly areas (say taking your bike to the Alps), but it is always possible to convert a 4 speed to 12 later if needed.
