Can an E-Bike really be used for touring?

Touring with an E-Bike is just like touring with a regular bike except you need to remember to plug your bike in every so often. How often depends on how you use your E-Bike. Starting out with an overnight trip where you won’t need to charge it might be a good trial run before setting off on a multi day adventure.

What are the advantages of touring with an E-Bike?

Because E-Bikes are pretty heavy they are designed to handle well at high speeds given this extra weight, meaning you’ll be as confident when you’re going down hill as when you’re cruising the flats of a rail trail.

Are E-Bikes comfortable to tour on?

Most of the bikes in this category come with at least front suspension, which means you’ll be able to navigate some rough and rocky terrain comfortably. If you’re concerned about comfort than we would recommend a suspension seatpost or choosing a bike with rear suspension such as the Riese & Muller Homage.
