Frames are in store now.

Tumbleweed Bikes has a well deserved reputation for building some of the highest quality steel bikepacking and touring framesets available. Their choice of top quality steel tubing is complimented by thoughtful and innovative design features.

Their two previous frame-sets were the Prospector (a Rohloff Specific flat bar frame) and the Stargazer (A dropbar specific touring frame), both were hugely popular bikes for us here at the shop and both won coveted "Bikepacking Bike of the Year Awards" from Bikepacking.com.

Tumbleweed describes their new model like this "The Sunliner is our new flat bar, mountain touring bike. One might look at it and say it’s a flat bar Stargazer. Others may look at it and say it looks like a Prospector but isn’t optimized for a Rohloff. While there are certainly similarities with both those models, we made some specific design decisions that further differentiate it from both.

  • The Sunliner is optimized for flat bars with a longer top tube and tall head tube.
  • It fits even bigger tires than the Stargazer with clearance for 29 x 3.0 tires.
  • Unlike the Prospector which is 135mm rear spacing, the Sunliner is Boost hub spacing front and rear. Sunliner is designed for for modern mechanical drive trains (1x specific) and modern mountain bike wheels.
  • It’s quite a bit less expensive to build a complete Sunliner compared to a Prospector with Rohloff too!
  • As a flat bar non suspection corrected frameset the Sunliner has the largest front triangle and frame bag space of any of our bikes.

Frames ship with: frame, fork, through axles, seatpost collar. Does not include headset, but we can fit one for no charge if purchased with frame.
